Each school, through its School Safety Team, is required to evaluate its implementation of the Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act from July 1, 2018, through June 30, 2019, by using the "School Self-Assessment for Determining Grades under the Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights." This Self-Assessment tool includes eight core elements that address all of the eight core requirements for schools. School Safety Teams must assign a rating for each indicator based on the criteria and available documentation. Wahlstrom Academy received a score of 76. The East Orange School District received an average score of 74.
While completing the Self-Assessment, we learned that our school has demonstrated strengths in integrating HIB prevention themes into our instructional program. This has resulted in the creation of favorable school-wide conditions.
